We're looking at a 1920 Pierce-Arrow Model 48 3 Passenger Coupe is plated in REAL 23 karat Gold leaf and Nickle Plate Silver.

I used to work for Evans Antiques in 1976 keeping clean every inch of that car along with all the other cars he had in his Museum car collection in Savannah Georgia

If I read correctly the owner started the plating Process in 1945,, Un other words it did not come from the Factory like that ..

Thanks for the video Lou! I watched the video and when I got back home I finally decided to see where in Chicago the Kollection is, turns out it is a ten minute walk from my home and I walked past it on the way home! Going to try to see if I can get an invite or such.

That 3rd seat was found in a lot of 2 seater cars of the era. A two seater was considered a "cad's" car, so adding the 3rd seat facing the main seat, for a possible chaperone made it socially acceptable. I wish I was making that up, but I'm not... There were some very creative placements for that 3rd seat...

That explains the "mother-in-law seats" in the "trunk" too. But then somebody got smart enough to figure out that if the chaperone had a companion she might be a bit distracted from her duties, so the mother-in-law seat became a two-seat rumble seat.
