In the inter-war period the railway companies were fierce rivals for traffic between major
centres, but when it came to the many secondary services that crossed different company
territories, cooperation rather than competition was mutually beneficial. This led to the
development of quite varied workings that saw engines and especially coaches of different
companies working routinely onto ‘foreign’ lines.

It’s actually quite nice to know that it’s not so unrealistic to have trains made up of all different railway company stock!

I lived in the Wirral 1950s and 60s, main engines were 2-6-2s both passenger and coal to Bromborough Power Station. Birkenhead, Parkside, Rock Ferry, Bebington, Port Sunlight ( Lever Bros ) Spital, Bromborough to Ellemere Port or Chester for connection to North Wales and Crewe.

Really glad you like it Jacob. It is scratch built. Pendon has so many unique pieces of rolling stock, houses and scenery, all handmade over many years to create the unique Dioramas that make the museum such a special place to visit in person or online. We hope you enjoy everything we have to offer.
