These guys that restore these items must work for peanuts. You have to pay the metal smith and fabricator for most of the repairs, but then the wood trimmer and professional paint stripper/blaster. Then you also have the cost of the materials….primer and red paint, red is the most expensive color on the market. The cost of the steel and brass. The cost of the lumber to trim the door. The glass. And then the new translucent telephone signs at the top plus rewiring and lighting. Then the antique dealer wants to make an easy profit for doing none of the work. Doesn’t seem like anybody is making much of any profit on that item.
@davidsnyder2000 Have been thinking the same thing, after the restoration there can't be much meat on the bone. In this specific case it's probably the TV money that pays for it.
