Born to a wealthy family, he was an amateur musician. In the 1920s his family came into bankruptcy and Adolfo had to use his music skills for earning money. In 1927 he moved to the USA and made his debut leading an orchestra in the famed "Embassy Club" in New York. He spent the rest of his life in the USA, gaining notoriety with his "Don Pancho Orchestra." In 1942 he joined the Army. (quoted from SecondHandSongs)
