If they only knew then what would become of Berlin in a few years time from then.. I’ve visited Germany a few times over the years and it’s a beautiful country.

This is really a time machine! My dad was born in 1932, he lived in Berlin with his family between 1935-1939, and then again in the 1950s. The restoration work you have done really brings the past closer! Thanks a lot.

Good thing this is gone and we have Netflix, OnlyFans, no community, no religion, WalMart, McDonalds, Amazon, video games on Steam, and PornHub, heroine addicts, massive scale degeneracy. What would we do without “progress”?

Real progress started a few years after this video, and was thwarted by the "good guys".

Brigitte Helm, the iconic "maschinenmensch" of Fitz Lang's Metropolis. And the film Atlantis is from GW Pabst, honoured by Tarantino on Inglorious Basterds.

The Nightclub scene near the end is filmed at the Haus Vaterland at the Potzdamer Platz. The band playing is Sid Kay's Fellows.

They should have played their music in the video instead of horror sounds to make them look evil

@@oscarsalesgirl296 they made several 78rpm for the label Tri Ergon! On youtube there is "die ganze welt ist himmelblau"

Looks pretty prosperous considering there's a worldwide depression.

Of course they only captured the makers of this film focused on the nice things and not on misery, there was plenty of misery in Berlin at the time they just didn't show it here.

@@ryleyw3684 Translation: 7 years later wasn't the problem for Berliners. It began in 1943 with the allied bombings and then the Soviet conquest.

Very interesting footage! I have to say though this is propably from after the 1920s, the movie "Die Herrin von Atlantis" from which you can see a poster in one frame was released in 1932.

I also think this footage is made of several shots from 1925-1932. We discuss about this here www.reddit.com/r/de/comments/ghh6o7/berlin_1920_23_remastered_colorized_60fps/?

TimeMachine Thanks so much for these excellent films from 1932 Berlin. Great quality and excellent colour giving a vibrant indication to the viewer of so many aspects of everyday life. As a resident of Berlin it is amazing to see so many familiar landmarks. Congrats on your work in restoring these films!
