I read yesterday in a German car magazine "The engine is for many more as the mover, he is the hart“. Of course he is, what else? No car shows this better as your beautiful Bowdie Deuce Roadster. Thanks for showing us so many special cars.

Mmmmmmm....... mostly I don't care that much for hot rods . . . . . . but this thing is a work of art! Really. There are no unnecessary lines, no arbitrary embellishments yet it fulfills its function perfectly and invites the observer into a new experience. Mies van der Rohe would be proud.

Where's the line? It's got a Corvette crate motor, a completely torn out suspension, power windows, disk brakes, and semi slick tires, but a gearbox that makes the car faster is suddenly "not old school"? A car is either old-school or it's not, and this car is definitely not old school just because it has a Tremec. Nothing against manuals, they're fun, but I think it's pretty nonsense to talk like a semi-auto would suddenly cross the line from purebred classic deuce to whatever y'all are talking about. That line was crossed way before he even chose a gearbox.

I love that it is a manual. Like he said everyone puts automatics for ease. I bought a 283 Chevy with a 4 speed for my 32 roadster.

I've only recently "discovered" Jay Leno's Garage - on RU-vid. What a really fanastic show! Jay is so much more the genuine petrolhead enthusiast than the smarty pants boys on Top Gear. Jay, i don't know if you ever get to either read or know about these Comments, but thanks so much for sharing your with us your world of motor vehicles - a few more bikes would be good. Absolutely agreed on the manual stick shift; It definitely makes you feel more connected to the car. When I was a kid you got an automatic because you didn't know how to drive.

Surprised cuz I know Jay usually prefers original wheels or at least original style and these couldn't be further from that. These look like they belong on an early 2000s Honda or Toyota if we're honest

Man, that's a sanitary engine bay. The paint, the brakes, it's all really cool. The LS7, well, I like the 18436572 sound a bit more than the 18726543 sound, but the performance more than makes up for it.

Gorgeous Machine well I guess, it covers the best of both worlds, modern and "vintage", Jay , owning any toy you want to, how about getting or building a true "Vintage" type Hot Rod, over size drum brakes, flatty w/ strombergs, stick + quickchange, old style suspension and steering (king pins), Tuck "n" Roll interior, with keeping in mind that's it a hot rod not a rat rod.

I wonder if Jay sends lunch in to the neighbor’s offices on occasion just to stay on good terms for all of his burn out’s he lays down out front. LOL. It’s gotta be cool seeing Thee Jay Leno come & go in one of his many museum quality cars. I imagine they get used to it after awhile.

Possibly THE car that Jay owns that I'd most like to spend a day driving. I'd be afraid to RIDE in the F1/P1 etc. THIS would be great fun... and yea.. no i have no reference point to imagine how expensive this car was to build

Jay, after watching "American Graffiti " in 1972, I fell in love with hot rod, most especially the '32 Ford "deuce coupe". It is my dream car, but at 60 years of age, I now realize I'll never be able to afford one. Could you help me with that?

Hi Jay, Is there any way I could get some pictures of the Chassis? I believe I actually built this chassis when I worked for Hot Rods and Horsepower. It was an interesting combination. If I remember correctly GM sent me the LS and a CTS_V rear subframe. They also sent a full scale print of the chassis, which was very cool having a print almost 20' long to work from. I was told that the chassis went to GM, SEMA then to you. very cool man!

Jay loves the American cars and they do have their attraction, but the reason they lag so far behind everyone else in the 21st century (German, Japanese, Italian, British etc) is because there is only really one player in America (GM). When you have so much competition like there is in Europe then that just breeds innovation.

I thought it would be better for the canavs roof to be left up inside, to get straightened out, and then each time when the roof is folded away the canvas is only folded down when outside which again is better for the canvas as well?

No mention as to weight or suspension tuning. Says "Corvette" suspension, but it's obviously got outboard pieces. Who did the suspension work?

5:31 What's that painted, bent tube between the A-arms,and over the steering linkage? Nice build, but a fenderless hot rod needs a solid axle, in my book.
