This truck is a reminder of the days when merchants were mobile, coming to the customer, before cars were as plentiful as they are today. This one has been beautifully restored, and with that ohv straight 6, should be very reliable.

Hey Jack !This is a beautifully restored 1932 Canopy Huckster ! I've never seen this early of a model in this platform. Chevrolet offered this platform well into the early 50's & they where a big export item to South & Central America & I remember seeing quite a few of these as a kid in Panama in the mid 60's & they where very popular with the street vendors ( hucksters ). This would be a a excellent advertisement for a small farmer with vegetable or a orchard on a roadside & I can see them hanging a scale on the back ! & it is really neat if you think about it that a automobile manufacture manufactured such a vehicle & there was a demand for it for over 20 years & this vehicle is a reminder of the spirit & independent thinking of America & what is was to be a entrepreneur . Thanks Jack for showing this historical 1932 Chevrolet Canopy Huckster & the American spirit.

Hey, Venice! Thanks for the background on these huckster trucks! They roamed the streets when people simply didn't have the means to easily go to the grocer. I remember the coal trucks, the oil trucks, the baker, the milk, the potato chip and pretzel guy, the Fuller Brush Man, all these came to the door. And at the corner, you might very well have one of these huckster trucks selling local produce. Thanks! :) Jack

@@coolrides Hey Jack could imagine how many people today have never seen one these in real life & this concept went back to the horse & wagon days when certain remote towns lacked some the simple conveniences & necessities of life back then. & when You mentioned potato chips where You thinking of Charles Chips? YUM! thank You for your reply.

Hey, Venice! Yes, I think this is a very foreign concept to most today....they're used to simply jumping into one of the cars at the house and going wherever they need to go. Yes indeed, I war referring to Charles' Chips...one of the best out there. Thanks! :) Jack

@@coolrides I thought You where referring to those great chips & I do remember a lady who use to take care of us had them delivered in a big tin! As far as I know you can still get them in Southern Maryland in a bag though.

Hey, Venice! Yes, I remember those big tins...I don't get potato chips anymore, for I would empty whatever container they were in in VERY short order! Thanks! :) Jack

Wherever there was a commercial need, the Chevy and Ford and Dodge tended to find a way to meet the need. Thanks! :) Jack
