Abandoned boy scout camp is like a ghost town, with beach front access located in Washington State. The land was donated to the Boy Scouts of America in 1936 and has been vacant since 2016. Located on a prime piece of real-estate likely worth a several million dollars.

Thanks so much for going out and capturing this! This camp brings back so many fond memories of my youth. I grew up in this town and was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and went here from the mid 90’s to early 2000’s. It was such a great camp! So sad to see it in the state it’s in now but clearly the BSA is struggling financially that they just can’t keep this camp up and have been trying to get this property back to the trust of the family that donated it to the BSA. I just hope it never gets developed on even if that means it just continues to decay. Maybe someday the Pacific Harbors Council can find a way to restore it to its former glory if it remains in their possession.

Overall, we think it's still in very good shape aside from the vandalism in the lodge. It looks like it only suffered from a few things being kicked over and some really stupid graffiti... We made a good effort to not reveal the location in an attempt to keep the rest of the sh*theads out. Anyone with enough brains to figure it out most likely won't be causing any harm. We're hoping it gets repurposed and enjoyed for another 90 years to come.

Most of the time the intro and outro are the hardest parts to get out! Love out takes and that place looked fun to explore, gotta love it when more and more structures pop out from the landscape! Looking forward to more content you guys!

Haha, ya some days are better than others, I think we went with the first take in the end anyway 😆 Glad you caught the outtakes! That place was cool! And very close to home 😉

Wow! Blast from the past! I went to camp here, taught skills when I got older and ran the camp when I got even older (as a youth leader). Myself and a bunch of the guys from my troop were very involved with this camp. Troop 366! Unfortunately the troop is no longer around but the memories I have will always be fond of this place.

Thanks soo much for sharing! Fortunately the camp is with new owners since the time of filming (we read) and as far as we have heard it will be preserved! Very exciting news!

A very dear friend of mine ran one of these for years in Maple Valley, Wash. It was called Camp Banshee and was considered haunted

I wonder if that's still around? This one is also in Western Washington, we just can't give out the location unfortunately

A friend of mine is or was actually in charge of this property, it was controlled by the trust of the family who had donated the land to the BSA and they had/have been trying to sell it for awhile to be a camp again of some sort and last I heard a little while ago a sale was pending, so it may be coming back to life at some point... back in November of 2020 I actually got to go walk around this camp... not as much exploring as you did, I did not get down to the beach.. but I still got some neat photos.
@DecayWithUs
@DecayWithUs 2 года назад
Thanks for the info! It's too bad they couldn't keep up the place a more... Someone must go down there now and then at least because the lodge was closed back up after 💩heads decided to scribble on the walls. Could have just been friendly neighbors, they use it for beach access
@DapperManDan
@DapperManDan 2 года назад
@@DecayWithUs my friend was the person who oversaw the trust as far as the property upkeep that was not part of it. People periodically went down and checked on the buildings, but thats about it... November of 2020 was when it was discovered that the lodge had gotten broken into and graffitied up so they got more boards up on the building... unless more has happened since then which I don't know, it didn't look like more had happened from what I could see in the video though.

Really neat explore, i was in the scouts until about 3yrs ago, i got kicked out for fighting this kid that was bullying my friend, what got my kicked out was for refusing to apologize and saying i was going to fight the dudes dad too lol. I actually fought him again a few weeks later at school bc he couldent keep my name out of his mouth ha. But did you all see were the tents were? I have a feeling they probably closed this place due to financial resasons bc of their abuse scandal.
@DecayWithUs
@DecayWithUs 2 года назад
Got to kick ass where its due sometimes!! We think the tent area was in the upper fire bowl area. We tried really hard not to talk about all the scandals, trust us it was hard 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

@@DecayWithUs the scouts is good for kids though, it taught me alot of good life skills and it was fun.,there are bad ppl everywhere as you know so im not going to let a few pervs keep me from letting my future kids join.I never saw anything like that when i was in it.But there should of been a cafeteria and kitchen too and that bulding you saw where it said men/women was probably the showers, as you know girls are in now too, so one side is for them.

@@DecayWithUs oh and the theater area is where all the troops meet up and there would be a talent show put on by each troop, its always almost comedy skits and theyre usually funny. Also sometimes there might be a special speaker,ofc we all ignore them bc its usually something boring. And all the summer camps i went to have cameras all set up along the trails set up to a live feed so parents (or whoever else) can watch the goings on from the camps site,its meant to make the parents feel safe but idk how i feel about it. Anyways thought id give you my inside knowledge to scouts and scount camp 😁
@DecayWithUs
@DecayWithUs 2 года назад
Thanks for the info! We seriously know very little about the program. Totally agree that by far the majority of people involved didn't have any bad intentions, quite the opposite. There's always gonna be a few scumbags no matter what, just the way it is unfortunately... Live cameras, that's crazy! So glad that kind of stuff wasn't around when we were kids 😆 I think my high school had one or two crappy old cameras, we definitely didn't do bad sh*t around them tho! 🧔

@@DecayWithUs when I went there we learned about canoes. So we would try with supervision to navigate with those. Also everyone keeps talking about what happened to some kids out there but let's not forget all the good scoutmasters that were truly just trying to teach us the things it took to become a boy scout and all the invaluable knowledge and survival skills it talks to become one. Nor I or anyone I ever knew was touched inappropriately so I hate it when people make it sound every kid that participated was a victim cause most of us weren't.
@DecayWithUs
@DecayWithUs 2 года назад
Canoes make sense! Looks like a great spot learn! We totally agree. We know a handfull of people who were in scouts, none of which had anything bad to say. A predator will take advantage of any situation. If the person hadn't been caught yet, it easy for them to slip through the cracks and give any organization a bad name.

@@DecayWithUs absolutely it's too bad that the majority have to bear the burden caused by the few. Anyway just found your guys and subscribed immediately.
