These cars have intrigued me for quite awhile. The shifting gears then pressing the clutch is the exact opposite from what I was taught. Their are plenty of these at the Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana. I took an elderly friend to that museum a few weeks ago, and he loved it.

This forecasts the future cars of the mid to late 1940s with no running boards and headlights directly on the fenders. I was born a few years after 1950. When I was a boy I still saw some cars from that era on the road in 1960s NYC.

The Cord automobile, was and still is one of the most exquisite designs of its day," in automotive history". When Cord went in receivership, during the depression, was bought and manufactured by Grampaige automobile company up till 1940. The quality under their manufacturing process, were not the same, in the quality of " fit and finish." Also they discontinued the," hide away headlights." This Cord featured in the video, was an excellent example of a beautiful Cord !!! Kevin Phoenix

AMAZING‼️ I learned a couple of things from this, I didn’t know the transmission was a 4 speed and “in the tree” also thought until now the hidden headlights were electric operated or hydronic I didn’t ever think that they were operated with a crank. I too love Cords. My father born in 1920 had spoken of Auburns several times and talked about an uncle from the states driving up here with a Cord, it was a fond memory for him. Cheers to you, your viewers, the host and to this museum. 👍🥂🇨🇦🍻🇺🇸

Cowboy star Tom Mix was killed when he lost control in a yellow 812 Phaeton. Somehow he missed a marked road closure and drove off a bridge at somewhere between 80 and 110 miles per hour. The car rolled and a metal suitcase transported in the back seat hit the actor in the head, breaking his neck.
