I guess 13 years ago they didn't know how to show the interior of vehicles. Would have been cool to see. My grandfather was 8 when this was made and my son is the same age now. The car still looks futuristic.
The Fageol Supersonic is still around, and was in 2009 owned by Robert DeMars. In 2009 Robert loaned the car out to the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, California. By then the propane power plant and original chassis were gone. Sometime after the 1953 featured story the innovative power-plant was changed out in favor of a Twin Coach six cylinder bus engine.
A lovely car. Yes, this one really needs to be restored. The only question is in what form should the restoration take? Original or after it was converted to the street.
im guess this car doesntturn very well because of the wheel cover on the front and it doesnt look like there is alot of space between the wheel and the cover
this is from the 30s? looks like its from the 50s! so when we think about it the " traditional basic car shape" we all know of today been actually concept for like 80 years!
Doesn't take 1/2 million to restore anything, just a lot of work and the very basic of tools and supplies. I did a motorbike all the way through last summer, its just a lot of patient work, nothing more. Nothing requires gold plating or diamond studding. Best to just do it as a hobby and take your time enjoying doing it.
I guess this guy is not that good at explaining him self -they are going to restore the car to the way it was originally for 500,000 dollars why I don't know just build a replica and leave this one as is.
Ryan Adams Yes I do and original is original and a replica will always be just that--- why interpret history as we understand it today when we might find more info tomorrow .. get it
WTF would take $500,000 to restore on this car? It looks like maybe 60-and-out to me, and that's if the interior is s**t. They're going to take the body off-frame, yes, but it's HUDSON running gear, for Crissakes, nothing unique.
I watched one of Jay Leno's Duesenberg videos and he said one guy was $300,000 in the hole JUST on some engine work and I thought that price was insane!!! Sounds like a lot of over inflated budget bullshit but the restoration shops know they can get it!
