In this final video on this restoration we finish the bike, we finish the primary, hook up and adjust the shifter, install fuel lines, install the air cleaner and we grease the whole bike,
Hi Jesse can I ask what is the reference book with the colour pictures you use as we have a 41 U and will be rebuilding soon thanks the bike looks great
Hey really enjoying this build I have a 39 ULH Recently went with an enclosed 1 1/2 belt drive. I noticed your crankcase vent . Looks to still be vented into the primary cover. Do you have any concerns regarding belt deterioration oil eats rubber. Or can that chain oiler/ vent be turned completely off? Thanks
I should have added this in my last comment, everything that I have read about flathead breathing is it happens in the tube that installs in the front of the cam cover on the bottom and the brass tube you see is actually the primary chain oiler and another part mounts to it and you can adjust the oil to that with the needle valve right above the oil pump on the cam cover I adjusted the needle valve to be completely closed, The flathead engine doesn’t breathe the same way a OHV does
Very cool. I can't wait to hear it run and watch you guys ride it. What's the next bike you'll b working on? I found the 71 Triumph Tiger series really helpful when I was doing some work on my OIF Triumph. I got the push rod seals and new top end gaskets installed and she hasn't leaked a drop of oil since.
Were waist deep in a 1968 with two videos out at this moment in time, we also are slowly getting closer to start working on the 1956 Harley FLH there is a couple videos on that then coming is a new surprise and I don’t want to spoil the surprise in that yet it will be revealed soon
Hi great videos thank you, please could I ask what the book is that you refer and use for reference, I have a 48 ul that I'm in there first stages of restoring, I have the palmers guide and a parts manual. Thanks Phill
