This is actually a family heriloom so some extra attention was given to make sure it worked great.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your family. Did Santa stuff you Christmas stocking with capacitors, resistors, Deoxit and #47 pilot lamps ? lol

Seth, Merry Christmas to you, your wife, your families, and everyone at the museum! The best part of the video was seeing your 1955 Mercury Monterey sedan. How is it doing and running for you? My friend's dad had a 1956 Monterey (the coupe version) that he bought from the original owner in the late 1980's or early 1990's. And now my friend has the car!

What a cool radio especially with that unique tone control-selection switch combo. I had a Philco radio-phono combo from that same era and to my surprise, the pickup for the record player worked! I sold the unite at a garage sale and have regretted that sale ever since!

Not only a family heirloom but a really well designed AM only receiver with 78 rpm phonograph. Seven all original tubes. Very little rubber wiring. Don't forget to put a fuse in line with the transformer to on/off switch. One day someone must sit you down Seth and teach you how to replace a salt crystal cartridge with a more modern cartridge that can play 78 rpm records. It makes repairing and restoring these old machines so worth while.

Sarnoff also tried to destroy Philo Farnsworth, the real electronic TV inventor, and outright stole his technology. Farnsworth kept meticulous notes which proved to be RCA's undoing. He was the first to retain his patents against RCA, but unfortunately WWII kept him from enjoying most of the benefit of keeping the TV patents.
