One of the most interesting films of the occupation of France I have ever seen. I have literally read hundreds of books on both World Wars. This video has given me a totally different perspective on the occupation.

I'm a Japanese. About 40 years ago, I remember one newspaper article. It said that one old women was founded by the police. And got under living livelihood protect by the local government. She had been lived in that village for several decades there, but no one knew her well in her neighbours. I didn't understand the reason why our Japanese newspaper took such a provincial French news at that time. But the article reported like this followings, she forced to be cut her hair completely by the fellows when Paris was liverated. Then I was not enough mature to notice but it left me the curious feelings.

Mon village, Glanon (Côte-d'Or) fut occupé pendant une semaine à la fin de la guerre par un détachement allemand qui se repliait sur l'Allemagne. Il y avait deux catégories de soldats; ceux qui étaient des citadins, plutôt antipathiques, qui passaient leurs journées vautrés dans le foin de notre grange. Les autres avaient été répartis dans les fermes. Très vite, tout le monde s'est rendu compte que ceux-ci étaient des paysans puisqu'ils savaient traire les vaches et labourer. Ils étaient très gentils avec nous, surtout les enfants. Ils nous donnaient des bonbons vitaminés à l'orange qu'ils avaient dans leur paquetage.

Ca sent la panique de toute part,ce style de vidéos en pleine élection.

depuis nous avons connues une autre occupation...........et la pas pour 4 années........

Some of the french didn't find it that objectionable with the nazis. So, don't let them snow you. Some profited quite nicely even.

J'ai de la famille qui a fini à Dora, mon père a combattu contre eux jusqu'en Allemagne et je ne les aime toujours pas en tant que nation. Impossible à juger avec 80 ans de recul, qu'aurais-je choisi à l'époque : De Gaulle, Pétain, ou attendre ce qui va se passer ? Les cartes de résistants datées de j-1, j'en ai vu et là pas de cadeau...

Beaucoup de soldats allemands étaient jeunes, beaux, craquants. Alors, parfois, il était difficile de résister à leurs charmes ... !

I have just seen the second part of the video. The way that ordinary German soldiers would randomly capture innocent civilians to be shot as reprisal for a German officer killed by the resistance, is chilling! The brutality of the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS was, and still is, beyond comprehension. Truly shocking!

Ce qui est terrible et monstrueux dans ce film, c'est que 84 ans se sont écoulés depuis son tournage et... rien n'a changé. La France et les Français sont au service des Allemands.

C'est amusant ,...enfin, quoique... En Allemagne, ils se sentent de plus en plus pauvres, et nous on croit encore que ce serait les all. Qui dirigent cette Europe. En fait, il faut regarder beaucoup plus à l'Ouest....! ...jusque le continent US ! Un seul exemple, le CAC vient de perdre 10%... Alors , les allemands ( qui sont encore plus frileux que nous en trading !) Ou les américains ?...!
