My mom and dad and several of my siblings first came to Ohio from Texas in one of these, back in 1948 . Mom and dad left Texas heading west though New Mexico, Arizona into California ( crossing death valley at night to avoid the heat) ,up though Oregon and Washington, then headed east though Idaho, Montana ,North Dakota, Minnesota,Wisconsin, the U.P of Michigan a ferry across the straight of Mackinac into The lower peninsula of Michigan into Ohio. They figured it was a once in a life time trip.
They were never that high in the front. The pictures in all the books are of the cars taking off the line on the drag strip, hence everyone thinking they had that stance. There was a crankshaft height limit. That engine needs some help too. I have an A/GS car and love the sport, it takes a lot of time to find true nostalgic parts and employ them on the car build. Nice to see a 40 Willys steel body, I will say that.
Work in progress? My ass I would love to have it just that way👍🏼 awesome I would love to have a 37 to 41 coupe or truck it doesn’t matter totally awesome vehicles🤠
I'm not a big fan of this ratrod rust thing, but that is some patina. I'd have to think twice before hitting it with the sand blaster. Especially if it's a old race car with local history.
Maybe there is some hope for this car I see a new aluminum radiator, new sheet metal at the fire wall and a chrome aftermarket front axle. Owner says it's a "Ford"???. I'm not an authority, but sure looks like a Willys to me.
King of bad the world's meanest looking car is a coupe Willy's 37 to 41 as a gasser makes a cobra Lamborghini viper Corvette Porsche look like a sissy !!!!
