These concrete pools would be over eighty years old today, and experimental methods of construction were used until the present day. Some used cinder blocks, some used sprayed cement over a rebar enforced steel bars, some used fiberglass pre-constructed containers. For waterproofing, some used rubber-based paint, some used vinyl liners, and some used fiberglass coatings. The chances of it staying in a state of possible use would depend on its construction, the maintenance used and chemical upkeep, keeping it covered and protected from the weather and the elements. Note how the pool is sunk substantially below ground level, even at the shallow end of the pool. The pool is accessed by a very long metal vertical ladder.

By the 1940s, necklines of women's bathingsuits plunged at the back, sleeves disappeared, and sides were cut away and tightened. With the development of new clothing materials, particularly latex and nylon, through this era swimsuits gradually began hugging the body, with shoulder straps that could be lowered for tanning.
