Thought I was listening to Hal Kemp and his orchestra at first! Amazing how famous Kemp's stylish sound was, that other dance bands such as Art Jarrett's here would copy it instead of develop their own unique sound! If Hal ever couldn't make a gig, all he had to do was call Art and have his Jarrett band fill in! They sound so similar. I doubt if the dancers would complain at all. This is a skilled bunch of musicians here! I hope to find some vocals by Art in the swing era now. This is my first exposure to his own band. I just know him by his early thirties crooning!
