1942 Allis Chalmers U has been laid up for a few years now with manifold problems, this year we decided to get it out the container re-machine the manifold, sort the magneto and bring it back to life! Here's a few clips from the past 4 weeks showing what we've been up to.

I learned to drive tractor in 1965 on a U Allis! This brings back such wonderful memories….the sound of the engine and the whine of the transmission. Thanks for posting this!

I take it that this is in the UK? I have collected a few of these Allis U tractors and find them a good machine for their time. Was trying to figure why he's rolling the turf? Trying to push the rocks down into the soil? I think the tractor has enough power to hitch one of those roller / pulverizers behind the digger, and do a better job and save a trip.

Yes we’re in the UK. I was rolling winter wheat but we had a very wet planting season and had to wait a few weeks after drilling before I could roll it!
