MY DAD HAD A 41, THOSE ARE NOT ACTUALLY TURN SIGNALS IN THE FRONT FENDERS, THOSE ARE PARKING LIGHTS, THE CONTROL ON THE STEERING WHEEL ARE AFTERMARKET ADD ON. JUST LIKE DADS. A smart thing to do in the 50s.for safety.

It’s a sedan coupe that’s why it has a back seat, also it has a later flathead in it, the original should be 221 cu. In.

Very nice car but the valve lash isn't quite right. My old flathead V/8's you could hardly hear running.if you adjusted the valves right.

This car looks like a dressed up Standard model, or a January 1942 "Blackout" model that has been given some pre Blackout trim.

Another lucky soul got a '42 Ford. WW2 brought car production to a standstill. Just to have a new car in that day put you one bit ahead of the other guys and dolls. 😅😅

WHY did we EVER prostitute our Auto Industry to foreign Auto Makers???
@oldmanfromoc7684
@oldmanfromoc7684 2 года назад
Because Americans are lazy, the Auto industries failed to meet Japanese standards !

My 66 Cadillac will still be running when these new angry samurai faced piles of plastic, and me, have been recycled.

It started with our government allowing the Japanese to subsidize their auto exports to this country, and starting 1975, severely restrict OUR cars from entering THEIR country. Our government did nothing. About a year later, Gerald Ford signed CAFE into law. Each year the minimum gas mileage was a little higher, often forcing the auto makers to use lighter duty components in some areas that were unsuitable. Remember the GM cars with the type 200 transmission? Jimmy Carter eventually tried to help by de-valuing the dollar, making foreign goods more expensive here and our exports cheaper, but the Japanese just increased their subsidies for their cheap models and introduced bigger more expensive cars. Then Saint Ronnie totally ignored the problem, so the Japanese kept increasing their market share, even though it had become almost impossible for us to sell our cars over there. Bill Clinton did get the Japanese to reduce their exports a little, temporarily, but that was too little too late. But he also allowed Mercedes to buy Chrysler. A big mistake in my opinion. In the years just before the Great Recession, GM bit the bullet and decided to match the Japanese on price. It bankrupted them, as they were selling cars below cost. Can't do that forever. Ford managed to survive, and Chrysler was bankrolled by Mercedes. Finally, the Greatest Generation was all in heaven by about 2015, and they, worldwide, were the ones who refused to buy Japanese cars, buying our cars instead, even in countries that now claim that our cars are "too big" for their roads. We now just have a truck/SUV industry. We do still make muscle cars and the Corvette, but no more Cadillac Series 62, no more Sedan DeVille, no more Buick Supers and Roadmasters, no more Mercurys, no nothing. I guess I will be driving my 73 GMC and my 54 New Yorker wagon until I just can't drive any more, as I am one of those who refuses to buy a Japanese car. Or a computerized car either.

@@jamesrecknor6752 Not Just Angry Looking, But Down Right UGLY And HIDEOUS Looking Plastic Balls Indeed. Having Hardly ANY Chrome On Them To Soften The Dull 3-Color Paint Choices Of White, Gray Or Black. With All Of Them Looking Virtually Identical, Having The Rear Looking Like The Behind Of A Hippopotamus, And SUPER BRIGHT GLARING Headlights To Blind Oncoming Traffic. No WONDER There Are So Many ANGRY And Divided People In This Country, Stuck Driving MEAN Looking Cars And Carrying GUNS To MAKE SURE They Can Intimidate Everybody Else. WTF Kind Of Car And Country Are The Designers Imagining People Should Like To Own ??? They Must Have Graduated From The DEVILS DESIGNER Academy. They Should Come With Bumper Stickers Saying: "I'm Sorry My Car Looks So TERRIBLE, But This Is All The Better Today's Designers Are Able To Come Up With"...

The 1942 cars were introduced in the fall of 41, not January 1942. This is an American car, not a Japanese car.

The Noise Of The Car Engine Is Louder Than The Voice Of The Old Man Talking. He Should Have Used A Microphone. Basically The SAME CAR From 1942 To 1948, With Mostly Front End And Cosmetic Changes Over Those Years. However The Car DIDN'T Come With Dual Exhaust, And He Forgot To Put Windshield Wipers On It. But It Looks Pretty Nice All The Same...
