going from elite 1 to elite 2, up to elite 5 requires green modules. This takes a long time to collect and the power progression is not smooth....you sit around for weeks if not months waiting the collect green modules to upgrade to next elite level and once you do you take multiple stars with the gold modules you accumulated. While this seems satisfying its not efficient.
With good planning you can smooth out your upgrade progression as shown.
