I have this beautiful model. I've never turned it on, but it was working when I bought it 46 years ago (I was a kid then). It doesn't have an electric cord conversion. I still enjoy having it in my vintage radio collection.

We had one of these when I was a kid in the 50s. It sat on the kitchen counter. If I remember right the volume control would turn it on. However the lid or visor would do the same thing. My mom made my Dad get rid of it because my Mom would get an electric shock from it when she closed the lid. Oddly enough my Dad never did. My Mom was afraid that us kids would get electrocuted and we were forbidden to touch it. Needless to say I thought that if my Dad could do it so could I. Well I did get the occasional shock and would often play with this radio just to see how many times I could open it and close it and not get shocked. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Well, some of that new music in the 50's was shocking! Sorry for the dad joke. Glad we were able to stir up some memories for you.

I have a couple of themLa 66BX and an 8BX6 plus a Canadian built one with a different case but with a built in phone jack.I believe its a QP 63 model with the RC 1067A chassis.I'd like to find a schematic for it but the only one I've seen is for the RC 1067 chassis.

@@VintageElectronicsChannel Does it have a dial light? A Google result says it lights up, but I don’t see a bulb in the schematic.

I have not seen a dial light on this one. I'll double check though.
