Btw, as a RU-vid warrior, next oil change you’re gonna need a new drain plug. There should be a screen around it. The screen strains the oil pickup tube.
Whole lot of water came out with that fuid...make sure you change that fluid out again quickly to get the remaining water out.. Had me a 48 8n that I painted camo lol. Loved that little tractor.. Just picked up a 57 860 at an estate sale for 500 bucks...gonna be posting a video soon
Ya we're keeping an eye on the fluid for any signs of further water getting in, nothing so far, i think it was getting in the top lid seal. That's a heck of a deal on an 860!
I'm glad you don't really like RTV. I hate that crap. I prefer Gasket Cinch. Besides it's period correct. If you buy a can of that, you will see that the artwork matches the attitude in the US in 1948. I'm not a "patina" fan. Those old machines have done an excellent job for 80 years, they deserve the respect to at least bring them back to their original look. I don't mean a restoration, but a preservation.
