I install a 6 volt electric fuel pump on my 1949 Chevy Styleline. This pump is rated at 30gph and 4-6 psi. I haven't had any issues that would require a fuel pressure regulator.

I got an 52 oldsmobile, very hard starting, im also thinking of adding a volt primer pump, But don't know how to, Thinking also that I might need a return to the gas tank for execeiv fuel

I’m having the same issue new fuel pump installed but the crank is not engaging the lever to pump fuel in. When I pump by hand it pulls fuel with ease. Update: I guess there is a push rod that falls out of place when removing old pump.

When you don't drive the car that often the diaphragm in the fuel pump goes out or gets stuck.
