I still Farm with my wd45. I’m a small operation but she still works, is easy to work on and I have plenty of snap coupler hookups. I love plowing and discing with her and love hay season. She pulls my 9ft haybine without issue and is a pleasure to rake in 3rd gear and has no issue with the New Holland round or square balers.
Do you run a round baler with it? I bale with a ford 860 tractor on a gehl 1475 round baler works good but drawbar should be higher. Was thinking about trying the wd 45 on it but don't know if it has enough hydrualics.
We have a d17 shes all painted up fixed up we had the 3pt hitch modified so we can run all modern iplaments good tractor and she is stilll working to this day looking good doing it
Verrrrrrry cool and informative video!! I grew up that most every farmer in my family had a wd or wd45.. and Daddy was an Allis-Chalmers mechanic for many years plus farmed most of his life with the gasoline wd45!
Me and my cousin inherited my great grandfather's 1954 or 56(I have to double check) wd45, he bought it brand new and its been in the family ever since. Unfortunately it sat at my papaws for 8 years while me and my family had moved to another state and I finally got it back last year. It ran when it was parked, but I plan on doing a restoration and using it as a show tractor and very light use.
We have a 1956 wd45 my grandfather bought it brand new with all the implements we still have the plow and the sickle mower and use both I am 21 years old and would choose to drive that old girl any day over any new tractor
