This is my favorite 1speed.. I have had this bike since the 90's.. I have rode it more miles than I can recall. When I first got it, It was very rusted over and had a Skip Tooth chain. One night in 2004 I was riding this bike down Lombard Street and the original New Departure Hub froze up on me and the rest of the night it was like riding a fixed gear bike (no breaks). I did remove the rear wheel and was able to fix the hub but shortly after that I did break the chain. I decided to rebuild the back wheel with a Bendix 76 red line (non skip tooth) added a new Sweat Hart . at the same time I striped both wheels and painted them white and rebuilt them. Then I decided to just repaint the bike.. So I found a springer fork and just redid the paint and painted the spring and replaced the pedals.. the original pedals would get wet in the San Francisco Fog and my feet would slip off the pedals... the light works but it takes 2 D batteries and does not light up worth anything.. The horn works and always has.
This is a great bike, Not all original but for what it is missing in a few original parts it makes up for in Charm.
The bikes on the wall I picked those up about 12 years ago.. My intent was to restore them and make videos of the process.. They have been hanging on the walls of my residences as decor ever since.
Maybe some day......
