Unscrew the bolt in the back completely and pull off the front face. With the back of the unit (green part) in your right hand, cup your left hand and gently tap the Argus into your cupped hand (as if you were settling a deck of cards into your hand). The back white piece where the bulb is will pop out. Gently pull the bulb out from the brass clip. The replacement bulb will be a PR-4 27 amp S.C miniature flanged.
I just got the back off mine. I can't tell you how many times over the years some family member would try. My dad took the secret to the grave. I figured it out two days ago. I was really glad there were no batteries because of corrosion but I guess I didn't need to worry about that either. Thanks for the video.
Knew about batteries - but it stopped working again. Just replaced bulb - found old one in flashlight and now It Works!! Thanks so much! @@ludditespaceprogram456
There's a screw on the back to take the face of it off, then you just have to kind of wiggle the screen forward till it pops out. It's only held in by friction. It took me a while to figure it out too! I also might have put a popsicle stick in the slot for the slides and moved it forward to Jimmy it.
