@@plymouthownersclubsocal744 Hupmobile was made from 1909-1942. Mine is a 35 coupe. Looks a lot like a Ford. I just got it on the road but the brakes are terrible! My car didn’t come with hydraulic brakes and Until now had no idea what the ones someone put on my car were off of. I see now dodge! I’ve been adjusting them wrong for sure but no I will try again.
My friend you do not know how to use that tool correctly as as an auto Tech for over 60 years I did many of these types of brakes There is one other tool that you need and that would be a shoe Grinder The shoes have to be ground to the radius of the drum 2nd The face of the brake shoe has to be parallel to the axle 3rd the brake shoes have to be center using the tool that you have And then you can adjust your brakes
Are you using an American flag as a shop rag? ... JK.. assuming it is just part of one yada yada... I'm on the hunt for that tool now! I seen that first in the shop manual but thought I'd never actually see one anywhere else.
