I can't imagine washing my face with a bar soap like Dial Gold (although great for keeping new piercings clean, or so I've been told) or applying a conditioner with lanolin

There was usually only 1 commercial per break from scheduled programming.

Because the commercials used to sponsor whatever program they ran on which meant they could run longer ads that were far cheaper than they are today since there was not much competition for airtime back then.

All these packaging back then was so much better then now its more dirty cheap plastic crap. They had less options which makes it easier to choose and be a minimalist.

During the 70's, soap manufacturers had to stop using Hexachlorophene due to it being carcinogenic. Dial Soap is still available at your local dollar store. 🧼
