A lot of early Chevys with that super long wheelbase and the extra standard hole on the bed or dump beds. It was a factory option that I don’t think you’re sad but I’ve seen them before and I have a friend that Caneyville who looked for a bed for ages before we finally found in one of that length. Cool old ride for sure!
I assume GGAI32438 is the engine block id. If so, your engine is from 1949 (G), passenger car (A), manufactured in Flint, MI (A). Not sure if the I is an “I” or a “1.” It could either be the 131437th or 31437th engine manufactured that year. :-)
I believe that is correct. I had 2 of these '51s at the time of this video. That is one of the reasons I sold it. I have another 1951 Chevy Truck 3800 all original with a hoist dump bed that I haven't uploaded the videos on it yet.
No, I ended up selling this one and buying another similar one but in way better condition with matching numbers and a dump bed hoist from the original owner.. I'll be uploading some videos soon..
