Old John Deeres have a very distinctive sound because of their 2 cylinder engine. It's like nothing else you've ever heard, and once you hear it, you'll never forget it.
That's a good looking tractor. We had a G when I was a kid. We traded it for a 720 diesel , I collect old John Deere tractors and when I find a nice G I am going to buy it. That G really has a nice sound. Thanks for the video.
We had Johnny Poppers,,Ford 2000's and an old Porsche Tractor,,as well. It was our family's Dairy Farm in Delhi N.Y.,,next town over from Oneonta. Grandpa had 900 acres with 500 head milked twice a day...We broke our backs on that farm,,spreading manure,,baleing hay,,cleaning the barn,,running the milk room. We'd usually fill 2 8000 gallon tractor trailers full of milk,,brought into Margretville to drop at the dairy...That BEAUTIFUL stainless steel milk room was always soooo shiny and clean. The health inspector from Oneonta loved coming to see Grandpa,,because Pop Pop was a STICKLER for cleanliness. I'm now in my 60's,,and the farm's LONG GONE,,,as BIG BUSINESS KILLED THE INDEPENDENT FARMER..but we HAD FUN. We worked HARD,,slept GOOD,,ate the BEST BEEF and Freshest Veggies from Grandma's garden. AND our 2 JOHN DEERE'S,,our FORDS,,and that Old Porsche got us through each and every day...WELL,,I've just reminisced by babbling and typing!!! I've got a little tear in my eyes...Thanks for reading my Rant,,and GOD BLESS YOU ALL❤❤
We built a 80 ft Fairbanks scale at Dill City Oklahoma Co-op Gin back in the 80s. That Co-op Gin had one Poppin Johnny and I used to love to hear that tractor every time the guy would fire it up.
I am surprised that this is a 1951 model with the exposed flywheel and round rear axle housings. The flywheel on my 1949 A has the sheet metal cover. And 1949 was the last year for round rear axle housings for the A anyway.
@@copperhead6132 you are right sir it is a distillate tractor the rear tank is gas and the front one is distillate but most of us run gas in them because distillate is dirtier.
@@liam3044 I’m 19 and I’ve been on a lot of two cylinders the past few years. Never be afraid to spend more money to get something that is better and not wore out. Learn from the old guys and fix things right so you don’t have to fix them again. And have fun too
