Mine likes 3 pumps and two spins. Stop! Pump once, full choke. Spin. She usually catches first spin. Open the choke to half and set throttle to 1200rpm or so. Mines bone stock original carb and 6v system. Your mileage may vary.
@@gearhead9943 I grew up on carbs. A lot of Carter carbs used a leather accelerator pump in carb. If the carbs had a hi quality Carter kit it's possible it's got leather a.c. pump. They re superior to the rubber type in cheap kits. The leather gets dry quick. It usually takes a few aggressive full strokes to get the leather wet with fuel so it can do it's thing. Get rude with the skinny pedal
H. R. Puffnstuff that’s awesome. There’s a reason I ask you because you seemingly know what you’re doing. Would love to see a few more demonstrations on video of the best procedures when cold starting with the skinny pedal
@@gearhead9943 Sorry I don't do videos. All my game is, old age and treachery. Honestly if your gonna play with carbed stuff it pays to have a good hot spark that can light any fuel/air mix off.

IDK guys a J2000 is a pretty cool rig that came out a few years after I was born, but you hardly ever see one kicking around. I see a CJ-3A every day, well maybe that's because I have one.
