Hey, Karyn! It seems so ironic to me that trucks like this, so plentiful back in the day, are so scarce now! For many years, trucks took a back seat to cars in preservation..I think we're seeing a turning point here! And from the viewpoint of restoration, these vehicles seem to me and easier restore than a car. More accessible, less fancy trim to worry about. Thanks! :) Jack

Hey, guys! Trucks back in the day really were workhorses...and certainly wouldn't be confused with cars...but that was changing when Ford, Chevy, and Studebaker came out with their car/trucks like the ElCamino. Thanks! :) Jack

@@coolrides Con respecto a Pick Up’s antiguas, este modelo de “Dodge” para mi gusto tiene un diseño hermoso, todos sus detalles me fascinan, es mi favorita. Tuve un amigo en los 80’s, tenía una idéntica a esta, pero él le hacía todo, Hojalateria, pintura, mecánica. Un tiempo la traía pintada negra, luego roja (el rojo de la lata de cerveza Tecate), gris plata. Cuando la traía negra le pintó en la tapa trasera de la caja la misma camioneta en caricatura pero con paisaje paradisiaco. Imagínate!! El si monto un motor 302 de Maverick y la hizo automática, también modificó suspensión, la carrocería totalmente original. Corría hermoso, un día nos le dimos a la fuga a la Policia.

Thanks for spelling out the environment these trucks often worked in. Dodge advertised that their trucks were "Job Rated"...that is, the potential buyer would tell the dealer what kind of work was to be done...and the dealer would make recommendations as to which vehicle was best suited to the job. Clearly, the owner was the final modifier of the vehicle to fit his unique situation. Thanks! :) Jack

Fargo was the twin, used in Canada, Australia, and some other over seas countries, the Fargo was more of a town truck where Dodge was mainly work work work

Yeah that's true, work in progress hey. Some things in the American body styling look a tiny bit different to our Australian models. I also noticed the way the interior body strengthening ribs run through the roof are different too. I mean in the panels, my panel don't have them ribs in the rear roof area. Not that it matters, but I thought it was interesting to see that different country, small differences.

That's an interesting point! The ribs probably contribute to rollover strength, but as far as I know there is no standard for that in the U.S. Thanks! :) Jack

They do have radios now that mimic the appearance of the original...but it's questionable if it's available for this vintage Dodge truck. Thanks! :) Jack

Hey, Dustin! I personally like the looks of these pilot house Dodge trucks...but as you say, they have never appreciated to the extent that Chevy trucks have. I'm glad that these Dodges are still around...some owners are not deterred by low value in the resale market. Typically they have memories of a grandad who had one, or a family business that used one. Thanks. :) Jack

@@coolrides I have a 49 in very rough shape, and parts here are nearly impossible to get, but I'm not giving up, it was bought new in 49 by my great great grandfather who used it on the farm for many many years, parked and forgotten in 77, stollen in 2012, and we found it in one piece in 2015 and had it since. Not a huge Dodge fan but this I'll hold on to
