Loved to hear the starter, and the sound of the "A" running. Brings back old memories. Learned to drive on a little model "H" Deere. Dad later traded that in for a model '52 "B" when I could handle bigger jobs. We always had an '51 "A" that was modified with aluminum pistons and had a water pump added to the cooling system. As Dad got more land, the "B" was traded for a 3010 diesel. Spent many hours on the seats of all four of them. Have missed that way of life ever since I left it. Especially miss those Green Machines!
Interesting that your '51 has all fuel & gasoline tanks. My'51 A is just gasoline. I think it was a choice but most are just gasoline because of the drop in gasoline prices, and gas gave more power. All farm distillate fell out of favor.
My Dad's '51 "A" also had only the single tank. The distillate and gas tanks with the fuel valve was a nice thing to have, even if you use only gas. We had a Model "H" Deere with the two tanks. I ran on the big tank, and could switch to the little tank when it started to sputter. That way I didn't have to walk back to the barn lot and carry a five gallon can back to the field.
