I've ridden a lot of british twins but never an A10. A friend of mine who has a lot of old brit bikes, pre and post war, reckons that they're his favourite. He has a few of them.
@@carlstark6857 Strangely I had a BSA M21 with that 7" SLS front brake and would say it was one of the best SLS brakes I've ever used. So much depends upon the drum being true and the linings etc.
I bought one of these in NZ when I was 15 (1965) for 60 quid. Paid for it with money I earned fruit picking. I rode it on the road, competed in grass hill climbs, grass track and flying quarter mile. Timed at 99.9 mph but could not break the ton to my life long regret. Oh, how wish I still had it.
That ammeter tells me it's OVERCHARGING when you rev it, and the regulator needs adjusting- or boil the battery, and have acid overflowing onto the beautiful paintwork. I know where there are 9 BSA A10's and a 500 Goldie all were in concours condition, until the owner died around 4-5 years ago. They are still there now, whilst his widow has no idea that they are perishing away, especially due to the change in temperatures, when things go from freezing cold to warm, and then bike gets soaked in condensation. But she won't listen, and just leaves them standing there. What an absolute shame.. all that painstaking work for nothing.
