Very helpful video. I have surge brakes on my boat trailor and it has the same exact internal parts. The master cylinder is discontinued so I have to rebuild it.You answered all my questions and taught me how to bench bleed my master cylinder. Great video.
I had purchased some powdered rust remover online many years ago. The last I heard they were out of business. I think any rust remover would work including a mild solution of muriatic acid. After the new sleeve was installed I put in a new kit.
Do you remember the size of the Welch plug and where did you get it from . I'm about to rebuild my 1955 special and wanted to try taking that off as well.
No I do not. I think I just took the old one and the cylinder with me to auto parts and found one. It may be stamped on the old one when you clean it up.
