The car is coming along nicely. I'd like to see some of the work as you are doing it. For instance using the different tools to strip the metal in this episode. It wouldn't have to be a long segment, just something like here's how the wire wheel worked on cleaning the metal and here's why the drum sander is so much better. That would help viewers like me learn how to do the work on our own cars.
Yes, it is Rustoleum rusty metal primer. It is in a can and I am using a small paint gun to install it. It seems to adhere well. I am using a rusty metal prep solution that is acidic for bare metal and also treats any rust that is left. I have not top coated it yet but am planning on using an epoxy primer from an automotive paint supplier.
@@ejhbritishcars6907 I'll be certain to follow along to see how it goes. I used that primer on a 1965 CJ-5 Jeep and a 1957 TeeNee boat trailer I restored but top coated both with Rustoleum. The results were excellent, but you might want to test top coating it with the epoxy primer or other paints. I've been told by a couple of people it works great and by a couple of others it didn't work out well.
I plan to paint the bottom side first, so that should be a good test. I have used epoxy primer on several projects and never had any issues, but I have not tried it on such an extensivly rustoleum primered car before.
