Thank you mate you are very kind. I am certainly a very lucky chap getting to daily drive a 56 Chevy truck, it’s very cool. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to comment mate, it means a lot. Cheers👍😎
Thanks mate, I really do enjoy the old jiggers and tell your wife she has awesome taste in motor vehicles😉. Thank you for watching and commenting mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Thanks Steve, that is very kind of you to say mate. I’m sharing what I love, so it sounds like we are on the same page mate. Have a great weekend Steve 👍😎
OK ….. This is my favourite RU-vid channel!!!! Loved the injection install (you’ll get good coin for the carby) must admit I was waiting to hear the air horns in action. You need to do a video on the clear coat as I have the same minor issues with my 200 series. Great video Terry. Mike
Thanks Mike, you are very kind mate. I sold the carby for $500 which was not too bad. I’ll definitely do a vid on sanding clear coat but that will be a ways off as the orange peel actually masks the dirt and dust, which is perfect on a daily driver😉. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I really do appreciate it 👍😎
Looking at buying one of these beauties in the near future and just happened to stumble access your add after watching your channel for a couple of years now…man I wish I was in the position to jump on it but we’re a few months off yet😢 Hope your trip went well guys.
Thanks mate, that is very kind of you to say mate. Summernats have always been on my bucket list, so yes definitely need to get out there. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
Olivia is my spirit animal😂. It’s a blast as a daily driver mate, a handful, but fun! Thanks for watching and commenting Grant, that’s very kind of you😎👍
Watching your channel, I also have a 1955 Chevy truck with a 700r trans. Do you have a lock out converter box for adjustment if so where do you set the dial knob when you are driving. Nice truck thank Len
Thanks Len, I appreciate the kind words. I do have a torque converter lock but it’s a simple toggle switch on the dash, so it’s either on or off depending on the switch position. Cheers👍😎
All over it jafffa I was thinking you can't drive daily on club rego but I see that was sorted out. Will you get personalised plates? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dan. Yep, definitely had to be on full open rego for a daily. I’m not planning on getting personalised plates, I’d rather sink that sort of coin into improvements. I really do appreciate you taking the tim to comment mate, cheers😎👍
Thanks Craig, that’s very kind. No, it’s a 57 2 door hard top. I spent 8 years doing a ground up restoration on that one. I’ll put a vid together some time in the future. Cheers 😎👍
Fantastic video Terry. Really enjoyed the banter and clear descriptions of everything you did. However, I am a little confused as to how the carburettor replacement with fuel injection works. I thought that fuel injection went directly into each cylinder. Or have I got something wrong? Cheers mate.
Thanks for the kind words David, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. There are basically two types of EFI, individual injectors (usually one per cylinder) like you were referring to and a throttle body injection like I have installed. The advantage of the TBI is it just directly replaces the carby, no need to change intake manifolds or have fuel rails set up. It works very similar to a carby, fuel is delivered to the throttle body with a fuel pump, and the computer meters out how much fuel is delivered into the Venturi based on what the sensors are telling it. What it does not use gets returned to the tank and recycled. I trust that clarifies things a little mate. Cheers😎👍
I hear ya mate, I’ve been watching it very closely as you could imagine. So far so good but that certainly could be my next upgrade. Thanks for sharing mate 😎👍
It’s a good question Shane and I’m no expert either. I think if I did run into issues a fan shroud would be my first go to point before a thermo fan probably because I could make more at home here with material I have on hand. Here’s hoping I don’t run into issues, so far so good. Thanks for sharing mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
No mate, no need. It does not have an overheating issue, even when in heavy traffic. If it did, that would certainly be the first place I would look. Cheers😎👍
Nice truck! I love the stance. Do you know what year Camaro subframe was used? I've been waffling on using Camaro, Mustang II, or just drop the original axle on my 55. I lean on doing Camaro subframe..
Yes the stance is awesome. I’m not sure what Camaro subframe was used but judging by the brakes and steering box it looks late 60’s early 70’s. The car handles remarkably well so I certainly rate that side of things. Thanks for watching mate 😎👍
Okay I like your Chevy. I have a 57 3/4 ton 3600 I'm fixing up big window in back. It's in ok shape needs everything new on it 283 66 Year and a 3 on the tree 🌲 . It's all going to be a original parts not going to do anything fancy 😕. Right now it's in a thousand pieces it's going take me for every to get it done 👍.
