I’m rebuilding a 56 Dodge Lancer Custom Royal, 4 door hardtop. My first car ever was a 56 Chevy. The more I learn and compare, the more I realize how much better the Dodge’s were.
Back when automobiles had style. I wonder how many beautiful old American classics, got smashed into a cube as scrap metal and shipped to Japan, only to come back as Datsuns, Hondas, and Toyotas?
My dad owned several of these cars made in the 1950s. He waited until the 1970s to buy them at a much reduced price That 1963 Plymouth valiant wagon he bought for $75 in 1974 lasted 5 years .
Who's the guy in the commercial? Anyways how did I get here you ask? Im watching the show Highway Patrol In my bedroom at 5:00 in the morning on MeTV. I discovered Google Lens...you can open the app up, point the phone to the car in question and hit the search button and there's the your video listed below.. thanks for posting 👍👍👍 excellent
This is when they made real cars with real metal, not like the crap they make now which is all plastic with plastic chrome,oh yes with touch screen everything,WHO CARE!! I am a proud owner of a 1966 dodge charger,
That '66 Charger , as a "daily driver" up here in the SALTY Mid-West would have reverted to it's "natural state" (iron ore) DECADES AGO! I am so thankful for "plastic" cars, they will NEVER RUST!!!
Dodge made good stuff. The sexy overproduced GM products always won over a majority of the public. My parents were suckers for GM and both sets of grandparents were Mopar people. I never remember their cars in the shop. My parents GM products paid for the mechanic's childrens college education.
:30 min the shadow makes it look like the car is leaking oil, lol :52 min I know the film is a little distorted, but that looks like horrible misalignment of body panels to me.
Well, AFTER a certain mileage. Up to like 50,000 miles IF you do good preventive maintenance mopar products of that era are OK. As long as you ALSO do really good rust proofing post purchase. The next place you go after picking up any Chrysler product at the dealer is to drive non stop to the local Zebart trust proofing provider and have a top-of-the-line rust prevention treatment done. Otherwise, within three years the car was full of holes!!!
Chrysler products were GOOD till the mid '50s, then they turned into SHIT and stayed that way till the present. The Fiat take over couldn't overcome the legacy of badly built vehicles!
