1956 Fender Stratocaster played by JD Simo 

Among the best guitar tones ever. It's frustrating how amazing and specifically unique '50s Strats sound. Fullness and quack all in one. Also, JD is a living legend.

This guy just slays everyone, in my opinion. Mixes of Jimmy Vaughn Freddie King, and his own thing. Seriously a great, all time great player

I really dig this guy and have since the first lick I heard him play. He doesn't bring a lot of originality to the table but he does bring a truck load of soul and style and conviction. There are far too many guitar players out there now who can't do ANY of that. No style, no conviction and no soul just the licks, learned by rote and cranked out with predictable mediocrity. This guy GETS IT. You can't just ape the licks you have listen to and digest the music and get it inside you. It's not so much about copying the notes as it is understanding the groove behind them and recognizing the chords from which they spring.

Awesome tone and playing. Amazing how you can really hear every little nuance, like where he picks the strings etc etc Sounds sooo good. Reminds me of Clapton here and there. Wow

I hope there's no health issues dogging him, because whenever a new video shows up featuring JD he looks a little more the worse for wear.
