A friend bought this gasser and on his way to come show me, he blew it up! So what do you do? Install a 572 blueprint crate engine, new transmission, re-wire, new brakes, suspension, front end rebuild, new drive shaft, etc... etc....
My first 57 was a 4-door hardtop. I love the roofline on those. Unfortunately, it had 2 too many doors on it so I stripped it off all the good stuff and put it in my 2 door that I still have from 74.
I agree, but the tunnel ram won’t fit on this engine. Wasn’t my first choice for the transmission either but the car is on the road and that was the most important thing. The engine and transmission are being saved for a future project.
Why would anyone think 35 psi is anywhere like norm even at idle,on a fresh bigblock, sorry just don't understand, am I wrong or do you need to take a look at the bypass spring in oil pump, or maybe just replace the thing with one that works good, just seems to low on a fresh cool somewhat cool running bbc, fresh chevy, sounds awsum
The idle oil pressure will be fine. It has almost 65 psi of oil pressure just off idle. This is a blueprint crate, engine carb to pan. If it affects the long-term engine life, I will let you know on the next episode the car is in.
I always thought if the front hanger is solid and the back swings when you are driving and hit a bump/ pothole the wheel will swing up and back instead of up and forward.
I like the stance. Not a fan of that rack and pinion setup seems overly complicated for a gasser. I'd cut those quarters and get some bigger tries in the back just a better look IMO.
