+malibulon There are actually a lot of people who care about America's old cars and trucks. Most people just aren't in a position to go out and do what I do. It requires a lot of space, a location where you aren't "bothering" anybody. A very, very understanding significant other, and most-importantly, an acceptance of the fact that malls are for normal people and Goodwill is a logical place to buy new clothes since they are going to be worn out very quickly anyway. I provide a service to the public by allowing them to be part of the Classic Rescue experience without having to answer to the neighborhood committee. We appreciate all of our viewers...because amongst other things, they make US feel important. Thanks Fer Watchin' -Rick

My all time favorite Chevy pick-up is a 1957 short step side. Mine had a 327ci and a car 4 speed tranny. I'm still mad at me for trading it off. Your videos are fantastic viewer friendly, about trucks of our youth, we got to see & ride in them when they were new and shiny. Not many Gear heads can make that claim. I remember the first time I rode in my brothers " BRAND NEW " 1965 ford short fleet side, uni-body bright red with white trim & grill & bumpers. I remember the shiny black floor shift stick & how quiet and rattle free it was. Memories like that are PRICELESS .....
@ClassicTruckRescue

+Robert Perrigo Old trucks are all about fond memories of a simpler time. You nailed it my friend. I can still remember riding in the back of our Scoutmasters turquoise 55 Chevy shortbed stepside with the backpacks on our way to summercamp. He had upgraded to a 350 and a car 4-speed and I loved the sound of that dual exhaust and the shifting gears. Thanks again. -Rick

Yes, respectfully Jaime what I call a looker! She seems so nice and has a lot of common sence! That Wendall T truck is looker as well. I can see it all painted up and put some wooden stake sides on that bed. Love your videos, brings back memories when I was young. I am 63 and step dad when I was 12 had Chevy and GMC trucks. It sounds like Wendell was an amazing man. I'm sure he'd have been absolutely made up to know that Wendell T. GMC is going to be preserved for your pleasure and the pleasure of many other people as he obviously loved and cared for the truck a great deal for it to be in such sound and solid condition after 33 years "resting." You just know that when they were working his trucks would have been some of the cleanest and smartest trucks around in that part of Oregon...

While looking for some motivation and ideas for my own 1957 Chevy 3200 project, I came across your video series....awesome! My brothers and I are old truck fanatics down in Texas, but we all spent a lot of time in Central Oregon. I grew up in Sisters and my truck came from the valley...it was bought by my brother in 1977, traded to my Dad, and he eventually passed it to me before he passed away. Seeing the work you do and the fun you both have doing it...your passion is obvious! My Dad was also retired from GM and built many Chevy trucks as a die setter and overhead crane operator. Keep up the great work....I love seeing these historical beasts brought back to life.

Hello Jamie & Rick, I just love watching you two go get these Trucks. I truly feel that the 1957 thru 59 Chevy and GMC Trucks have such great looking body styles. I love old Trucks Ford & Chevy mostly. I live in Lake Elsinore, California and there is a GMC Flatbed same look as Wendell "T " GMC and it is setting in a dirt lot with a few other cars and Trucks with For Sale signs in them. The closest big city to Lake Elsinore is Riverside Ca not sure how far that is from you of if you would be interested in anymore of the big Trucks or not. I know the big trucks are not going to sell as well as pick up trucks would. I know your business success depends on finding buyers for most of the trucks you find and make deals on so you may not be able to take in to many big trucks at the same time, just wanted to let you know about this one. love you two and wish you all the best and much Success. Hi Jamie & Rick, You guys are very clever in the names you give your trucks, I have been naming my cars/trucks for many years, makes them more a part of the family, I think. I have a question, do you have some kind of house situation for The three of you to live in while you are building the truck ranch? I sure like Wendell, Big ol guy, glad you saved him! Hope your Big move goes well, As always, enjoyed the video, great to see you guys.

+joel mccoin Naming them also makes it easier to distinguish one truck from another. I do have a pretty nice 5th wheel that I completely restored a couple years ago (Alfa 5th Wheel video). So no, I won't make Jamie and Annabbella sleep in a tent this winter. We aren't kidding ourselves about the fact that some hard work and sacrifice are coming in our immediate future though. I am currently moving all of my trucks, parts, tools and household goods to a new 25-acre location where there is nothing but weeds, trees, and wildlife. That said, when you graduate in 6-months, feel free to drop me a line, because I will probably be in a position to hire someone at that point and I'm thinking that it is time to start training someone else to be a member of the Classic Truck Rescue team. Not a mechanic or even close but after you get done your move don't think it would take much to build ramps and install a winch. Love all the trucks but am sort of partial to the heaver duty type. Oh yea tell Jamie she is cool and would really look good behind the wheel of Wendell T cruising down the highway.
@ClassicTruckRescue
@ClassicTruckRescue 9 лет назад
+Jim Krueger That is exactly what I am planning on doing with it. Too bad I didn't notice the perches on the rear for the ramps earlier. They were probably sitting out at the yard where the truck was sitting and I believe everything else got scrapped. We like the big uns too. Thank you, -Rick

Rick, I would like to know what you do with the wheels on those trucks? My son just bought a 1958 Viking 60 with a great running 261 I6 and the truck is in really good condition. We would like to find a safer type of wheel to use do you know of any good replacement ? Can the originals be made safe? maybe welding the two parts together? Any suggestions will be appreciated. We really like your collection and will be watching for the new ones, keep up the good work you two.

Gee thanks Kevin. Unfortunately, I'm the one with all the knowledge and experience when it comes to classic trucks. so if I just film Jamie standing next to them and smiling while I explain what she's standing next to, we'd be in danger of turning into a spin-off of wheel of fortune.....but I'll try to get Jamie in the picture as much as possible because I do agree that she's easier on the eyes than I am. If you need more spice in your life, I recommend "Pico-Pica"...I put that stuff on EVERYTHING! Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

It's a shame that big three don't care to make trucks the way they use to back when these where made they wanted these trucks to last for years , little did them know that what they made would last for ever they all should look back and take a lesson .

I know time is short right now but after you have settled into your new place I think it would be cool if you did a picture video of your collection. If you did four shots of each truck covering all sides and post the truck's name, the year and model, when and where ya got it, and maybe the status. Ya know it's getting so your viewers need a program. Just an idea. Oh and Queen said another one bites the dust but in this case another one saved from rust.

Hi mate. Thanks for the video. That is an other very nice truck that you have got there. I was wondering, are all the trucks petrol powered or are some diesel? I love diesels, and think that trucks in general should be diesel powered. What are you going to do with all of those bigger trucks? they are going to take up a lot of space on the new site. Are you also going to have a line up of trucks at the new location? I hope you do well mate, I have the feeling that both you and Jamie deserve that. I know that you like to thank a higher power, but know that most of what you have is earned by hard work, it was not given.
@ClassicTruckRescue
@ClassicTruckRescue 8 лет назад
+Marcel Timmers right now, the only diesel powered trucks we have are Jamie's black Ford (Gopher), and my 'Boomer" project truck that Intermountain Innovations is currently doing all of the fabrication work on. What I'm going to do with all of the bigger trucks is use them for the purpose they were built, which is work. We use the 'Bullfrog" dump truck, "Tinker", 'Old Yeller" and 'Old Macdonald" all the time. I'm sure we will use "Wendell-T" to move trucks and tractors also. We will also have a line-up of trucks at the new location, but it will not be visible from the street. World's getting a bit too odd to leave all that candy dangling out there. We will be making the new Classic Truck Ranch a much more interactive and enjoyable experience for our customers, family and friends, but it will be a much less enjoyable for people who steal puppies and parts. (some of my long-time viewers will understand that). As for my Higher power, I call Him God. I don't beat people over the head with Him, but He is with me daily and I can appreciate what you said, it really IS a lot of hard work, but Philippians 4:13 says that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Thank you for your positive input and your good questions. Mostly, Thanks Fer Watchin', we really do appreciate our viewers. -Rick

I mean where else are you going to find a truck with 36,000 miles. I mean my 2010 Lincoln has has 48000 miles on it so there you go you ain't going to find something with that low of mileage that clean very often especially in such a unique vehicle you know you might find a Camaro or Corvette or something like that but not an old truck
@ClassicTruckRescue
@ClassicTruckRescue 8 лет назад
+spackmaster Chavez I totally agree with you. Trust me, I do not take Tinker for granted. I am aware of what a rare and beautiful truck that is. So how about if I get out there and build him a new barn? I am not a big fan of car covers in Oregon weather and I will get Tinker under cover. I did not choose to be cheated out of my lease on our current location, but I am grateful that it happened, because we never would have found 25 acres of paradise that God was saving for us if it hadn't happened. Tinker is like Jamie, Annabella, myself and all the other trucks. We have to sacrifice a little to make the dream happen, but we will all be better off in the end. When the dust settles, we will all be happier, safer and more secure on land that we own and can't be ordered around on. Thank you for your concern for Tinker. I get it. He needs to be inside. And he will be. thank you, -Rick

But all you could do is move on you guys got your property I was just saying as a temporary fix some kind of a car cover I know I live in Medford so I get the rain all the time in Oregon. I know they have car covers that are waterproof that might be just something temporary some sort of TARP I know tarps when the wind blows will mess up the paint on them car that's why I don't like tarps they start flapping and they make marks on the paint. But I understand please don't get me wrong I am not mad at you at all just that's a special truck as you know I just don't want to see the paint! It's such a beautiful truck and I bet its very rare.
