My first mower was a #5 I never had an 8 or 9 but the next one was a #11 trail type. I had a JD crimper too but I ran it behind a NI mower because it had a thorough PTO shaft and Deere didn't offer that. Great old video again. Nice looking alfalfa too.
I cut many acres of hay with a 9W mower on a Ford tractor. My grandfather would rivet in new ledger plates every year when it was time to cut native prairie grasses. Cutting 9’ at a time seemed like it took forever to cut a 35 acre field of alfalfa.
I still use one of these mowers to mow the tall grass under my barbed wire fences .. if I don’t the weight of the grass and the snow pulls the fence down .
Yep we're going to run some other brands old equipment and then keep up decade by decade until we get to 90's 2000's and even modern stuff! Thanks, I think learning the evolution of this equipment helps us better understand it! As my grandfather always told me... your not here to "sweep" the floor, you're here to clean it! The broom is just a tool son! I've always looked at equipment that way
