Classic Truck Rescue showed up on the scene a little too late to save this Super Rare 1958 Chevy Apache Anniversary Edition. I went ahead and saved what I could. There are a lot of good parts here that will help other old trucks live on.

Wow a 1958 anniversary model. I recently looked at a 1968 anniversary model. The guy didn't know what the truck used to be. It was also a CST. It also began life with 327. It also had the gold and white paint job. Now you waiting for the other boot to drop or the hatchet! It had been a long bed. And the old boy 70 years old was known to build hot rods. Thought he tries handy work I cutting it down. But first the 327 wouldn't running so you put a 305 in it from something. Then he cut it down to 6-ft bed. Now I didn't take measurements but the bed appeared to be correct a fairly close you're right dimensions. But when he cut the frame he did not cut it underneath the cab like he's supposed to. He cut it took the section out of the frame in about the same place that he reduced to the front measurement of the bed. Then of course he had to cut the arms going back to the rear axle. He overlapped them side by side and welded them together! Not running with 327 being a CST and an anniversary truck to boot a good $12,000 truck! Running it would be probably $18,000 and that doesn't take in consideration of the golden anniversary paint job. He also took the chrome bumper cut it down so the corners would hug the body better. The back bumper It's from like a 62 65 Chevy pickup and it's original not a step bumper. It's painted. It's not cut down doesn't look like because it would fit in its original length. The guy was asking around $3,000.. I saw another one that was a duplicate of this one about 900 mi away the way it was cut down. But it was cut down properly. And he used couldn't get $4,500 out of it. Nowadays he could probably do okay with it people are accepting cut Downs. Okay so let's try and gold and white anniversary paint jobs together. It is pretty common to say that truck is murdered. Kind of like saying it was sick but amped up to the next compliment level. No the truck you brought back was murdered by sheet metal butcher like you said. Maybe not so many words. I also shared a story because I didn't realize that they had done that paint job every 10 years? I thought it was a 1968 item by itself. Maybe every 10 years I guess. But I thought 1968 would be it's cold and anniversary you know officially you're supposed to give certain products for each 5 or 10 year wedding anniversary year. But but your truck that you bought was an anniversary truck it was straight. Short bed fleet side big rear window. I think you said it has six cylinder but otherwise it had every option going for it! And there's nothing wrong with the six cylinder in those old trucks. To see that truck, it made my other eye sore! Speaking of which doc was so much more encouraged after the follow-up of my second procedure. We'll see and yes pun intended, where I'm going to be at in a few weeks. It's something eerie for a guy that had eyes like a hawk especially when younger. Two other things. I have a 56 1 ton dually Chevy and a 1959 Vikings series 60. Also the 1960 Vikings series 60. I'm getting at the handbrake thing that she said was so valuable. I don't normally sell any parts but if somebody was so interested and you hear dry spell let me know. Assuming those parts would work on whatever application they want it. Because these trucks are not going to be stock. In the 59 is getting updated on the brakes. The 60 I think is a little different mechanism. You're the expert. The 561 ton I don't know if it's on the transmission as well. But it's going to be put on a near chassis so those rims and everything else can go. The last thing as you probably know the pipe coming up on the side of those sixes the older ones for breathing for the crankcase. According to the parts guy those have shot up dramatically in value. Just FYI. Forgive me if I'm sounding like I'm trying to tell you your business cuz I definitely am not. We have red tail hawks, owls, page and a couple of different types of eagles including the bald eagle. Such a majestic bird of strength. A bigger part of your they seem to stay around here. But they do leave it's about time for them to come back on a month or so. I have no pictures to share well I do but I can't on this forum. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your place. Okay another book. Hopefully you and Jamie are ever and ever improving.

Isn't the APACHE the Steel FLEETSIDE bed? Or are stepsides also called Apache's...? I've NEVER seen a stepside Cameo! But am fortunate to own a 55 Cameo (FIBERGLASS FLEETSIDE).
@ClassicTruckRescue
@ClassicTruckRescue Год назад
The Apache name did not become associated with these trucks until 1958, which is also when the "Fleetside" bed with smooth sides was introduced. 1958 and 59 Chevy trucks ranging from 1/2 Ton to 1-Ton were called Apaches whether they were equipped with Fleetside or Step Side beds. Trucks larger than 1-Ton were called "Vikings" Trucks larger than Vikings were called "Spartans". The Fleetside bed introduction in 1958 was the demise of the Cameo. Only 1405 Chevy Cameo pickups were built in the final (1958) model year.

I actually got a really good suggestion from a young man called Shooter Brown. He said I should cut the front section off, install a chrome grill and some headlight buckets and make some "Anniversary-Edition" Wall Art out of it. I'm going to do that and make the headligyhts (LED) and parking lights work. It will look great in the new shop with a blown-up photo of a restored 58 Truck in the Anniversary colors.The rest of the parts will go to help other trucks ride again. Thanks for the great idea of sending the story along with the parts. Will do!
