当時、六甲山での撮影に出くわして、ポインターの実物を見ました。近くの休憩場所にはダンもアンヌも居たらしいのですが、僕はポインターの周りを何周もしたことしか、記憶にありません。中には外国人が運転席に乗っていて地球防衛隊をさらに現実味を。 今でも最も乗ってみたいクルマです。

Excellent job ! I can only imagine how hard it was to just get a hold of a car that old. Then to do all the modifications just show a dedication to making his childhood dream car.

噂には聞こえにすれど、やはりここで紹介されているポインターのレプリカはつくづく素晴らしいプロダクトであると思いました。また、それを創り上げ今に乗り続けているオーナーの方が羨ましくも思えます。昨日、たまたま横田基地の日米友好祭の写真を拝見したので、つられて動画を探していたところ、この動画を拝見いたしました。以前からTAXIを稼業をとしているオイラ としては、先々、それで個人TAXIでもやりたいなと妄想をしているのですが、しかし、日本でTAXIの営業車として新規登録するには製造から三年以内という縛りもある故、新たにポインターのレプリカを、それも現代的にアップデートして作るとすれば、クライスラーのハッチバック、ダッジMAGNAMあたりがベースには良いかなぁとか妄想してしまた。また他のベース候補としてはトヨタ・センチュリーあたりも考えてみたりして。ポインターは夢のクルマですね。

This is an amazing build. That said, it's pretty clear when you watch the show that the car did run; they have scenes of it taking off up hill. lol Perhaps there were some scenes when the car wouldn't run and was then pushed into frame, but after having watched many episodes of the show I haven't found any. Either way it's a beautiful vehicle and I'm so happy to have a model of one.

It is awesome to see a replica of The Pointer in present day.

Ha ha, I remember watching this car in the show, as a kid, and thinking there could not be a cooler car anywhere in the future, lol...some things can only be seen through child eyes...since now it looks and sounds like crap. Lovely wife!

The original from the show runs back then, but now it cannot run.... If u watched Ultraseven, there are many scene showing the car is doing a 3 points U turn in the middle of the road...

Anyone who calls this car a "Chrysler" Imperial knows little or nothing about this cars history: The Imperial STARTED life as a Chrysler model in 1926, but in 1955, it was SPUN OFF of the Chrysler Division , and was registered as a SEPARATE , DISTINCT MAKE, NOT BEARING THE "CHRYSLER " NAME at all. It didn't even bear the VIN number of a Chrysler. Why was the IMPERIAL split off from Chrysler ? Because the two cars competed in two entirely DIFFERENT price classes. CHRYSLER was a upper-medium-priced car, comparable to BUICK and MERCURY.... whereas IMPERIAL was a high-class , high-priced luxury car, comparable to CADILLAC and LINCOLN. The "Chrysler" name CHEAPENED the IMPERIAL , and gave it a medium-class stigma. So, in 1955 , the decision was made to SPIN-OFF the IMPERIAL into it's OWN BRAND/MAKE/ DIVISION, so it could better compete in the price class that it was CREATED for in the FIRST PLACE .
