Victorzilla 280z New cars are so bland and boring, there’s nothing distinctive. 1958 Plymouth Fury, Wow, Just beautiful. So slick. Smooth as hair gel over a bald mans head.
150 Speedo is available for the 57-58 model years all over the internet and they are even making new number fields here in the U.S. that are spot on reproductions for relatively cheap.
I have loved this car since I was 7 years old. And I hadn't seen the movie Christine as I was too young. A neighbor down the street had one and it was an off white kind of cream color and it was for SALE! The lady wanted $1,900 for it!!! I begged my Dad to buy it and he said it would only depreciate even more. So we didn't buy it. Years later I reminded my Dad about that and he said yeah I remember. I showed him what their value is today (2019) and he was like crap I should have bought it. One day I hope to own one either fix one up or buy one whole. Thanks for the video!
I thin kit was the two years before that the Belvedere Fury was only sold with buff white paint and gold accents. The color scheme would change only after the Fury became it's own model.
My god what a beauty. It's a shame the 1957-58 Mopar's had such rust issues because they are some of the most beautifully styled cars ever to roll off an assembly line. Those Fury's were also a pretty fast car for their day. They were one of Mopar's first high performance models along with the Chrysler 300, DeSoto Adventurer, and Dodge D-500
This one is even more bad ass with a later model 440 big block with dual quads. I love how it is completely stock appearing otherwise. Such an awesome hot rod
The Plymouth Fury, in Canada, was also called a Dodge Mayfair, a rebadged Plymouth, in Mexico, The Plymouth was also called a Dodge Kingsway, again a rebadged Plymouth.
ED4action it was a horror movie in 1983 directed by John Carpenter and based on the book by Stephen King. It was about a possessed car. That car was Red and white 1958 Plymouth 2 door hardtop very much like this one. It is actually quite a good movie and I recommend checking it out.
Just read Christine for the first time recently. They say that you can handle a '57 through '60 Fury in all its quirks and idiosyncrasies just by reading it. Apparently it applies to the base-trim Plymouth Plaza, too. The movie apparently doesn't work the same way, but can provide the same for Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler K-cars and the Dodge/Plymouth neon of all things. Anyways, I'm in the market for a 4-door Fury in Galactic Turquoise & Cream.
Well if I had that Christine car (58’ Plymouth fury) and I allow the gold digger to sit in it, the car will scare her by crushing her using the seat and she will scape and run away. I can use Christine to scare off gold diggers
I learned to drive on one of these and I remember being worried that no car would be this good looking when I was old enough to afford cars of my own. I was correct.
Is more than likely a Belvedere would have to check the Data Plate. I hope someone wouldn't alter a true Fury. It would be like cutting the horn off a Unicorn.
BEAUTIFUL CAR , HOWEVER I WOULD HAVE HAD THE DRIVE - TRAIN IN THE FORM OF THE PERIOD CORRECT 392 HEMI W / DUAL QUADS , REMEMBER THESE CARS CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH A POLY 318 OR THE OPTIONAL 350 W / DUAL QUADS RATED AT 305 H.P. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO THE 57 CHEVROLET, THIS CAR WOULD LEAVE IT IN THE DUST AS THE 283 POWER - PACK WITH DUAL QUADS WAS THE ONLY PERFORMANCE OPTION AT THAT TIME !!!
