2021 Dodge Challenger T/A 392 Widebody vs 1959 Cadillac CTS-V
Our first car is a 1959 Cadillac (Series 62?). The other a 2021 Challenger TA 392 Widebody. The 1959 Cadillac came stock with a 390 V8 rated 325 horsepower, but it now features a LSA from a 2013 CTS-V rated 556 horsepower. The Challenger T/A has a 392 V8 rated 485 horsepower. The Cadillac came from the factory with a 4-speed hydramatic transmission, but now features a 6l90 6-speed automatic. The 2021 Challenger T/A 392 has a suspected 8-speed automatic, but that hasn't been confirmed. Stock rear gearing on the 1959 Cadillac was 2.94 (or 3.21 if equipped with air conditioning), but has now been swapped with a Ford 9 inch rear and 3.73 gears. The Dodge Challenger 392 has a set of 3.09 rear gears. The Challenger curb weight is 4335 pounds. Original curb weight of the Cadillac was 5030 pounds, but now with the engine swap the owner states it's around 4500 pounds. Car and Driver tested a 2021 Dodge Challenger T/A 392 Widebody and it ran 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.5 seconds @ 116 mph. Dodge stated it can run 12.10 seconds @ 112 mph.
Both of these cars participated in the FAST (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) event, but only ran for fun during time trials.
