What I learned today: 1) Lots of people don’t like fender skirts and mag wheels and they don’t mind telling you about it. 2) Everyone is a critic. Show them a beautiful classic Impala and they will start picking it apart and telling you what they don’t like about it. ---------- The wonderful thing about owning a classic car is that you can do whatever you want with it. There will be no shortage of people telling you what _they think_ you should do with it but it’s your car and you can tell them what you think they should do with their negative comments about it. That’s a gorgeous car. I love it. If it was my car (I wish it was) I would remove the fender skirts (because they _are_ removable Y’know) and store or sell them. They’re worth a lot of money. I would put chrome reverse wheels and baby moon hubcaps on it. I’m sure a lot of people would tell me that they don’t like chrome reverse wheels and baby moons but since it would be my car I would have the choice and that’s what I would choose. I’m torn on the dual antennae. If they were original equipment I’d probably leave them alone but if it didn’t already have them I certainly wouldn’t add them. They were considered stylish in the late fifties and early sixties but they serve no purpose other than the aesthetics of symmetry. It’s a cleaner look to have no visible antennae. I’d probably swap the small block out for a 409 with triple 2 bbl carbs but if it had the original 348 I’d leave it alone. 59 Impalas are beautiful cars. People who don’t like them have bad taste.

As a european I can´t get so easily on with the monsterlike outer shape, but the interior, especially the dashboard is truly superb.

Drop dead gorgeous car, fell in love with this model long time ago too bad they financially are far out of my reach.

It is truly beautiful but i think the wheel covers are just not looking good on the 59' impala

The wheels and fender skirts are terrible, it would look better stock.

I love Fords but the 59 Chevy in red was an eyecatcher from me When I could afford one, I couldn't find one.

Too bad it didn't have the original webfoot 348 engine and the fender skirts are not cool. This was a car I drove in High School.

They hired to many Christ Craft engineers back then.
