Putting the regulator that high on the rail probably isn't a good idea. Those truck rails have vacuum reference on them, so you're also double regulating. Efi fuel systems tend to have a very dynamic fuel pressure due to the constant start stop of the pulsing injectors. Most cars get away with having the entire column of fuel in the line acting as a Reservoir, but with the regulator so high it can't do that. Man that sucker is hacked together.

That is the loudest fuel pump i have ever heard. Kinda sounds like an electric hydro pump trying to lift a building.

You guys are low down. ... showing me a quad light Short fleetside Apache.....that's painful..... spent 20 years trying to find a decent, almost rust free example . Now I have to jump in a cage with the biggest/wildest grizzly bear around...and get em riled up...and take my punishment for not finding my dream truck.....yaw should at least cover some of my medical bills after they drag me away from the Mad 🐻 bear.

Get the battery off the fender. It will leave a terrible rust spot and will not look good even with the patina. Terry

I would love to have that truck. I would give it a new metallic paint job and NO air ride. I would modernize it and redo the inside. I use leather when I rebuild my seats and dash pad along with the Headliner. I don’t have time to work on my own small collection of cars. I have rich people wanting kit cars made, all with Ls and all new parts. We have added making frames to our list of things we do. I have 2 sons that are partners. I told the om to each hire a friend. Muscle car Resomods are very popular. I started out like you guys. My Dad owned a junkyard and I could build an engine by the age of 12-13 I loved working in cars with my Dad.

Sounds like my 12-15 psi TBI fuel pump once she starts to suck crud out of the bottom of the tank.....she doesn’t last long after that! (I own a 76gmcStepside w/89 TBI 350) I like what I’m a seeing keep on keepin on

Haul it to the Junk yard. Next wrap the fuel line around the exhaust pipe, if you want the right results.

If that truck has been sitting that long then y'all are lucky it runs because it's a LS in a 59 Wich is nice now but I been around this along time that will be a nice project to restore.

I got a 1990 prevost charter bus had not run in 15 years got 4 new batterys added 12 gallons of antifreese coolant and sprayed some ether in the air cleaner detroit diesel fired up thanks to GOD ALMIGHTY.

Love the old Apache, my Grandpa had one when I was a little kid. I can remember riding out to feed the cattle with him in it. Believe it or not I think your's is in better shape then his was back then!

I would have liked to see a series of the 59 Apache willwood brake upgrade, tank under the bed bench seat and wood bed install, a decent clean up, steering wheel , adjust the door to the fender. Then your normal make the rust patina look great! Love the show however that Apache needs some love.

Replace everything with modern stuff (brakes, engine, shocks, suspension etc. A nice clean modern interior, but keep that exterior patina and to me it would be incredible. You Americans really knew how to make a really good looking truck back then, you still do tbh but they just don't compare to the trucks back then.

If you still have that 1951 Chevy cabover dually conversion that you were going to put a diesel in, that would be an awesome project.

I am so over the patina finish. It was cool at first but now it's everywhere. I actually saw a 51 Chevy p/u where the owner had put on a custom chassis with all modern suspension, a HIGHLY detailed LS engine and engine compartment, and thousands into a beautiful interior. He then had a rusty crap exterior. I'm no expert but I think you may need a new fuel pump. :)

Build a front engine rear wheel drive v-8. Vw beetle. Shouldnt be real difficult to make it fast. Im the type of guy that likes different . That would be different And yoj probably have 90% of what you'll need there
