@@James_Hough John Deere has not built a 2 cylinder tractor for the US market for 60 yrs. Lots of people do not even remember those tractors so don't make a remark that stupid.
A bunch of us vocational agriculture power shop boys (and a very crazy instructor) in Wisconsin way back in 1965 got one to crank out 90.5 hp. It was a beast.
@@leonardcollings7389 YES. BETTER FUEL IS PART OF THE REASON. SULPHUR HAS A GOOD DEAL OF LATENT ENERGY. THAT HAS ALL BEEN REMOVED TO HELP WITH EMISSIONS. AS CHAD GILLESPIE STATED BELOW HE HAS SEEN THEM MAKE OVER 100HP. DON MEEKER IN OHIO BUILT AN 830 THAT HAS BEEN TURNED UP, TWISTED AND TURBOED. 5 YEARS AGO I SAW IT MAKE 135.2 ON A CERTIFIED DYNO AT A FAIRGROUNDS IN INDIANA.
Yes, they have mechanical injectors. And on the injection pump, there is a screw which permits you to adjust the amount fuel the pump sends to the injector. You can turn it up quite a bit, or turn it down. My motor puts out better numbers than factory spec, so I have never messed with it. I did turn up the injection on my 70D and picked up a few horsepower on it and smoke.
Back about 2010 there was a 830 out of Marshall, Il that pulled around Illinois with so much fuel turned on that it would stretch the head bolts every pull so they built a frame around the head bolts and it came back to the frame and it stopped stretching the head bolts. I saw it pull one afternoon in Butler, Ill in the 6500, 7500 and 8500 lb class and made a full pull in every class.
It's a Dyno to test the Horsepower they hook the rear pto to a shaft that is freely spinning and they put load on the shaft which causes the engine to work harder and causes it to blow black smoke
Russell Ehler Actually the diesel fuel today is much better than years ago. Diesel back than was no.2 fuel oil, today's premium diesel makes much more power and less smoke than no.2
