1959 Pontiac El Catalina Safari Pickup: In the Heart of History 

If this is for real and a factory vehicle this would make it one of the rare vehicles ever built.

Back in the 80's we were on vacation in P.A. and in someone's driveway was a 64 Pontiac El Camino. We immediately stopped our car and stared in disbelief!

don't know how many of these exist, but I saw what looked like a later model of this, in the wild, today.

I always thought that they should have called it the saringetti since the station wagon was called the safari. And yes it is real.

It's a shame Pontiac never put this into production. On the other hand, she's almost too beautiful to be a 'working' pickup truck, (as opposed to the Ranchero and El Camino, which were both as stylishly beautiful as they were purposeful looking.) 82nd Like.
