I got one for a steal as it was listed for parts since the owner didn't know how to test it. I don't think these are very pricey since it is just a triplet lens but there is nothing wrong with a good triplet lens if you're on a tripod and stopped down. I usually use F-16 or F-22 I've gotten insanely sharp shots with
I just got my yashica A yesterday! I'm glad I stopped on your video. I was wondering if you happen to know the screw size for the cold shoe on the side of the camera? The cold shoe plate was hanging by one screw. and I wanted to fix it myself
I'm so glad it was a useful video. I'm afraid I wasn't able to find any information on screw sizes, but according to this very detailed site the screws are often replaced with different sizes so hopefully that helps. yashicatlr.com/BodiesTrim.html#shoes
A Yashica A was my first camera, bought for me for my 8th birthday in the early 1960s (I was photography mad and my mother wanted her Agfa Isolette 3, that I had somewhat commandeered, back). I rather regret that I sold it to a friend in about 1970 when I decided to go to 35mm with a Zenit B/Helios 44.
Hello, I have just purchased this beautiful camera. Just a question about shutter speeds, there are only 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 and 1/300? Or you can play with the wheel to choose another speed between two numbers (1/75 for example)
Yes it really is a beautiful camera. The manual does not mention if there are speeds in between the ones that are marked, but I suspect that there are.
